Mitcham Girls High School has created a STEM Pathway to ensure our students are aware of the high quality of STEM opportunities available to them at 完美直播.
The purpose of STEM at 完美直播 is deeply aligned with our vision: Equity Starts Here! World Leading girls鈥� education empowering all to achieve. At 完美直播 we are evolving our curriculum to provide enriching opportunities for young women to apply their science, technology, engineering and mathematical knowledge in relevant and industry led scenarios that develops critical and creative thinking.
Our STEM Pathway begins at Year 7 where our students will engage in an interdisciplinary challenge (Semester 2) that integrates learning across Maths, Science and Technology subjects.
From Year 9 onwards students can elect to study a range of engaging subjects in Maths, Science and Technology that will challenge them to apply STEM thinking and continue to develop critical and creative thinking skills.
Beyond the classroom there is an exciting range of opportunities, challenges and competitions that students can engage with, providing them with connections to industry, experiences with innovative technologies and to learn first hand from inspiring female role models. The penultimate STEM experience is our STEM Trip to Cairns (ventures every second year), where our students explore the Great Barrier Reef and learn about Marine Biology.
